I’ve been all neglecty.

It’s just been one of those weeks, ya’ll.  Not in a bad way – it’s been good, actually (I mean aside from that part where I ran over that innocent squirrel and it got all twitchy and jumpy and I couldn’t tell if it was dead-twitchy or alive-and-in-pain-twitchy and I didn’t know what to do so I just left it in a panic because whattayagonnado, take a squirrel to a vet?!? and then suffered two days worth of guilt), just full and so I just haven’t been at the computer a whole lot.

Last weekend my workouts consisted of toiling away in the ol’ yard.  We had a lot of kinda’ stupid-looking shrubs and scrubby looking little trees that we got rid of and we put up a lovely new fancy schmancy mailbox.  It was nice just being outside working with the hubs, plus our projects necessitated a couple of trips to Home Depot which I always love.  As you may be figuring out, it does not take much to make me happy.  Why I am so thrilled by the act of meandering down aisles of toilets and ceiling fans I will never know.

Earlier this week I got my Tabata on for the first time and although I felt like I was dying by the end, I much prefer to run all-out with walking breaks in between to the alternative long-distance run.  Hooray!  I think I’ll be sticking with this method for a while.

Tonight is gym night and I will be focusing soley on lower body as a part of my plan to shake things up, so I’ll be sure to post about my workout soon!  I’m thinking of attempting to conquer the 100-squat workout that Julie at PBfingers has been doing.  I probably won’t be able to sit on the potty without assistance.

In other me-related news, remember that gator?  Yeah.  Turns out I do have to eat it.  This weekend is the big Alabama-Florida game and my dear friend is a Bama fan through and through, so we are going to watch the game and…eat some gator.  You know.  ‘Cause they’re the Florida Gators.  Mmmm, I’m so…not excited about that.  Maybe I’ll make sure there are other meat options lying around…or hidden in my purse.

What are your plans for the weekend?  Do they include football?

  1. I hear gator is good eatin’! All them guys on Swamp People can’t be wrong.

Hey, you could power squat while eating the gator, you know, like a big overly dramatic way of using your dipping sauce.

  2. Our weekends always include football at this time of the year. Esp. when the Redskins have Ram for lunch–or when the Lions digest some Cowboys! And ANY body could swallow some GAMECOCKS whole, including their coach & I wouldn’t be the least bit upset!

Whatcha' think about that?
